The Low-Priced Hewlett Packard LaserJet 1020 Printer Wont Let You Down
The economical HP LaserJet 1020 printer using LaserJet 1020 bulk toner, looks to be designed by the company to be applicable to the needs of most home office users who have a once in a while print job but nothing too out of the ordinary. It delivers good quality text printing and its overall cost per page is nice and low, owing in part to its retail price. It’s one of a number of 1000-series printers offered by Hewlett-Packard.
Specifically, the 1020 is a black-and-white laser jet printer capable of putting out product at around 14 pages per minute of good quality product. HP includes one of its image enhancement technology suites to keep print product looking good.
Onboard memory included with the HP 1020 is only 2 MB of RAM but that’s all that’s needed because the computer is meant to handle most of the processing duties it sends to the printer. Additionally, a 234 MHz microprocessor has been fitted to the printer to keep the flow of jobs from the computer to the printer to output well regulated and smoothly flowing. That 10 second order-to-print capability is evidence of that.
The 1020 prints out all kinds of different paper media stock, including plain paper, transparencies, envelopes and labels. It can keep about 150 sheets of paper within its auto load input tray and it is fairly durable, as well. Maximum monthly duty cycle comes in at a robust 5000 pages, which is actually a fairly impressive number for such a small printer meant for personal use.
HP includes a single black HP LaserJet cartridge and the 1020 has been made to run off of several different Windows operating systems, including ME and XP. There is a fine one-year warranty that’s extendable for a price. In all, it looks like Hewlett-Packard has designed a fairly durable personal printer meant to fit nicely in the 1000-series of printers it has made available over the years.
For a price of about $150 new for the HP LaserJet 1020 printer, one will be getting a capable and durable machine that will print most things well and will also accomplish most tasks with little problem. Check the Internet carefully, because prices for this unit have been ranging as high as $370 from some stores. Given its nice functional capability, it’s easy to see why many people prefer the 1000 series of printers as their personal machines. When it comes time to get more toner cartridge, do a search online for HP ink and toner and find the cheapest HP LaserJet 1020 printer toner cartridge available.
