The Fabulous, The Hewlett Packard Color LaserJet 1500L Printer
The HP Color LaserJet 1500l printer using HP Color LaserJet 1500L toner is a true budget-priced laser jet printer that can make for an ideal candidate for any business that needs a good printer at a bargain price. It has nice print speeds and the quality of the printed product is also very good. It’s meant for true workgroup duties, by the way, and it has easy-to-implement connectivity processes, which makes it even more of an attractive candidate.
When it comes to that print speed, Hewlett-Packard rates the 1500l is being able to produce about 16 pages per minute of product, which is excellent in terms of monochrome printing capability. Color pages per minute is reduced down to four, but it is clear that Hewlett-Packard intends for this printer to be more of a workgroup printer that needs to do black and white and not color, so much.
The 1500l takes advantage of standard USB connection capabilities and there is no other option available as far as connectivity. It’s actually not a big deal, but keep in mind that there is no USB cable supplied with the 1500l. So, make sure that one is purchased prior to leaving the store. It’s also extremely easy to connect by just about anybody, so no need to hire an IT specialist to do so.
Printed page resolution is fairly standard HP, at 600 dots per inch (dpi) with the HP toner. This is adequate enough to ensure that most any printed page will emerge from the printer looking clean and tidy, with no blurriness or smudging in evidence. HP includes a proprietary image enhancement technology control software program to keep everything looking just as neat across most any print task.
Supplied memory with the 1500l is fairly typical for this price point and segment of the market at about 16 MB, with no way of upgrading it. For most any workgroup that this kind of printer is meant for, that’s really not too much of a concern. A 150 MHz processor that will keep all print tasks organized, prioritized and produced in acceptable time handles print duties.
The 1500l prints out on a nice number of different media stock, which includes transparencies and plain paper as well as envelopes. It can hold about 125 sheets of paper, which might seem a little low, so ensure that the workgroup understands that frequent paper restocking may be necessary. 375 pages of total media capacity is the norm for this particular printer, as well.HP Color LaserJet 1500L cartridges on hand.
Durability in the 1500l is also nice enough, with a maximum monthly duty cycle at a nice 30,000 pages. HP recommends between 1,000 and 3,000 pages per month, though, which is about par for the course for a printer of this type and price. Keep in mind that this is a laser jet printer, meaning that it takes four printer cartridges, 1 each of black, yellow, cyan and magenta. It also can run off of Windows and Mac OS operating systems.
Taken altogether, there seems to be an awful lot to like when it comes to the HP Color LaserJet 1500l printer. It’ll work well and do most any task given to it within a small business workgroup. As long as those workgroups aren’t expecting the ability to handle very large print jobs, everything should be fine. Given that it sells for about $150 retail at a number of websites, and that it can print 16 pages per minute, there really is much to like about 1500l. Remember to always have back up cartridge toners. Eventually you will have to replace the HP Color LaserJet 1500L printer toner cartridges, so just search online for HP Color LaserJet printer toner cartridge and find a store that sells some.
