Sony BRAVIA KDL-52W4100 Customer Review
I purchased this tv set in January 2009 and I think it’s an absolutely hot buy.
A couple reviews said that the television has problems while the black shades are dynamic. I’ve checked for this in the store with great details and have used it for a month and I haven’t seen any sign of that issue. This is a super sharp TV with outstanding colors and strong black tones. This LCD TV is much improved than the previous TV model from the same W series.
Here is why you should purchase this television. It has a very clean image in high definition and does a flawless job in SD transmission a lot better than any other TVs I have used. For that it’s respossible a great technology from Sony named DSP which is basically noise reduction technology. Sony of course knows Blu-ray because afterall they manufactured it, they know whit skin tones should appear I mean they hold a movie studio, the menus are very easy to use, it has a built in TV guide and it has future expansion capability.
Image quality is pretty near Samsung in HD. I looked at both televisions side by side. Samsung is a bit better on clarity in standard definition. Samsung has more glare, Sony is a matte cover but blacks on Samsung are pretty good because it has a glossy screen. While viewing a Blu-ray disc,Sony is showing a more detailed image. No fade from bright to dark problems on Sony as some reviews has said. Colors are nice and bright as Sony Bravia two engine is outstanding, maybe even better than XBR engine.I have heard the Z series may be better but there isn’t 52” models
Tv menus on Samsungs are created for experts with a lots of tweeks, but really it’s unclear for average user. If you doubt that, get the user manual for the Samsung LN52A650 and for Sony KDL524100 and see the difference. If you are technical expert, then buy Samsung. If you don’t like to mess around, but get an topnotch picture, take the Sony. Ths Sony TV is truly simple to use, but also it automatically finds digital channels and is like having a built in cable box.
The Sony television may not have the Ethernet connector and built in news like the series 6 from Samsung, but it has the built in TV guide and future expansion. But, if you want internet in your TV, you are better to be connected through other device. The TV guide feature in this television is outstanding and the Sony Bravia Sync is very good especially if you use a Sony DVD converter for 1080p. Picture in Picture technology is outstanding also because it’s allowing you to view image from HDMI and at the same time watch cable TV.
A favorite feature on Sony KDL52W4100 is the on/off button on the top side as this is preventing children from turning off TV. Also a outstanding thing is the remote on the Sony as it is really easy to operate.
In the end, if you want the a very clean image, easy to use LCD TV with options that makes standard TV watching smooth and simple. This Sony KDL52W4100 is outstanding choice.
You can check Sony KDL52W4100 on LCD TV Reviews portal. If you don’t like Sony check Samsung LN52A650.
