Longer Lasting Camera Batteries

Do you run out of battery power just before taking a picture with your digital camera?. Here are some tips to save your batteries when you’re out “snapping away. Click here for more on Battery Charging.

Turn off your camera when not in use. If you are taking your time then fine but if you’re in snappy mode then this may not be appropriate!

Secondly, If you have a normal viewfinder then use that instead of the LCD one.

Thirdly, most of us are tempted to view the picture in playback mode after taking it to make sure the lighting is good etc. But it does use up the power.

4) If you are using MicroDrive media, be aware that hard drives may take up much more battery power than a compact Flash card.

5) {Take care of you new battery. Normally, a new battery is delivered in a charging very low and should be fully charged before use.Refer to the user manual of your electronic equipment for loading instructions}.

6) Take care of your new battery, It must be fully charged and discharged upto five times to condition it and extend it’s life. Discharging and charging is necessary to maintain optimal performance of a battery, and is recommended at least once a month.

7) If possible, remove your battery from the camera and store it fully charged.

8) Do not keep batteries under charged. If you do not use your camera regularily remember the battery will discharge itself ove time. Do not fall into this trap, always charge your battery before each trip, and be sure to use a battery charger with a sensor that prevents over-charging.
