when i plug in an ethernet cable into my wireless router, i start getting disconnected?
I am having problems with my Linksys wireless router. I have 2 PCs, a laptop, and 2 XBoxes. Everything is fine when it's all wireless. But I just got one of the Xboxes, and I didn't want to buy the wireless adapter for it, so I just used an ethernet cable. But now I'm getting disconnections from the wireless and the wired devices. any suggestions?

- Check your IP configuration on your machines if you have overlapping IP addresses then sometimes they might get disconnected, It happens especially with Wireless devices that Dynamically acquire Ip Addressed
- thats very strange as everytime i tried using ethernet it connects straight away and is faster than wireless. maybe your router simply dosent like the xbox being wired or you have too many devices connected. 5 is quite a lot. try going into your routers settings 192.168..... whatever it is for yours (its on the back) i think you click paired devies or allowed devices and allow your xbox.
- They must be trying to use teh same IP address which kicks both devices off. Connect all the devices you want on your network and then reboot (or cycle power to) ALL of them and have then re-discover their IP addresses. I am assuming your home router has DHCP onboard and it's enabled because most do.
