How do I find information from an IP address?

I have an IP address from which I would like to glean some information, such a precise location (not of the server, but the user) and who could possibly be the user. Just having the address does not tell me much, I would appreciate it if anyone could help. Thank you for taking the time to reply.

  2. Not sure but try using "tracert" command if you are using a windows system. go to "RUN" Type "cmd" or "command" and press enter... You get a DOS like screen... 1)Type tracert followed by IP address. 2)Try "PING" followed by IP address. Method2 : Type IPADDRESS directly in web browser like "IE" and press enter. Try searching in google ....... Also if You are Using McAffee there may be a facility in it to see Incoming and outgoing info.
