Home Wireless Network Home Wireless Network

Why would my printer connected to my wireless home network all of a sudden stop working?

I have a desktop which is plugged into my printer and my wireless network. The printer is set up for sharing, however, when I go to set up the printer on my laptop, nothing shows up. It's not detecting it. The really strange thing is that this worked a few days ago. What 's going on?

  1. u have to refresh the connection every 5 to 6 days
  2. There is a sharer cable available in the market. Connect this to the printer and the 2 ports on the sharer cable to your 2 computers. Then you will be able to print from both.
  3. You desktop is sharing its printer with your laptop, meaning that you desktop must be on whenever you want to print from you laptop. You may be happier with a print server. e.g. LINKSYS PSUS4 PrintServer for USB with 4 port Switch RJ45 1 x USB ($60 from newegg.com) A print server behaves like a PC that's attached to your printer, but it does nothing else. Best thing is you can leave it on all the time with your printer, especially since the 4-port switch on it becomes a handy extension to your router.
