Will my wireless card work with the latest release of Ubuntu?

I have a Dell Inspiron B130, 512 ram, 80 gig HDD. Intel pro/wireless 2915ABG network connection. Broadcom 400x/100 integrated controller Current OS is Windows xp. Just wondering if Ubuntu 7.10 would work with my wireless card or not.

  1. Chances are, you might have to go out and manually find/install the drivers for it. However, when I used 7.10, it got my driver for me.
  2. Ya hi There's a hardware compatability list floating around. You could get the live cd and see if that recognises your card. But really, its not hard to set up an unsupported wireless card. Ive done it in ubuntu and opensuse. ndiswapper and madwifi are the two apps u can use to set it up. between them you're pretty much covered.
