How to turn on my wireless network card on my laptop?

I recently installed a new hard drive in my Dell D610 Latitude laptop. I did all of the instructions on extracting files to get my computer up and running again. But my wireless card will not turn on and I dont know how to do it. I tried extracting different files but none of them seemed to work. I just want to know if I can do it and how? Or if I should take it somewhere for someone to work on it.

  1. If you've just replaced an old hard drive, you probably need to install the software drivers for the wireless network card so that your computer recognizes it. If you don't have the software for the card, go the the card's manufacturer's website to download the software drivers.
  2. Well your computer now has no way knowing what hardware you have in your computer except by the default drivers, which aren't very good, that microsoft windows provides. You should have a CD that came with your laptop that Dell provides that has all the software for Dell and the Drivers on it. It will say something like 'installation CD'. Put this in your laptop and run it. Chances are other hardware devices will not be functioning either since they don't have the proper drivers installed. It would be therefore best to install all the drivers, not just the driver for your wireless network card.
  3. you need to install the drivers for the wireless drive and install the isp's disk and the modems install disk if they weren't loaded with the new system. you might find the drivers for the wireless in the device manager
