Can one use an external wireless card in addition to the laptop having an internal wireless card?

Also what is the best external wireless card to purchase? Also, is there anything else I should know about wireless cards and adverse interactions with other software and/or hardware. Thanks in advance!

  1. Yes You can do. The best wirless/wifi card out there is linksys or netgear They have wireless N cards which are the best wifi cards around at the mo.
  2. You can, but don't know why you want to?? If you don't plan on upgrading to Wireless N technology, why not just keep the wirless on the laptop. Make sure you switch off the laptop internal card else may have config problems or conflicts with the external one
  3. i don't see why you couldn't, but i don't see why you would. maybe if your internal one was B and your external one was G, or your internal one was G and your external one was N. i don't know specific models but i've always liked Linksys and Belkin for wireless stuff. i've heard good and bad about Netgear but never used one.
  4. why spend money on a laptop when you can get it for free? just go to this site and complete a few quick tasks and they'll send you a sony vaio laptop at no charge!
