Is a wireless card necessary to surf with my laptop if my cell phone has internet access?

Right now, we are paying Verizon for 3 "lines" - my phone, his phone, and the laptops' wireless card has it's own phone number. It's expensive for all 3!

  1. On your laptop you should be able to use floating networks(I do it all of the time) if your out and about, I am not sure if you can access your internet on your laptop from your cell - I doubt it. Paying for three lines sounds ridiculous though. Call Verizon.
  2. Try connecting to someone elses wireless network. If you can that get rid of that service
  3. It is possible, but it's against the Terms of Service. Laptops use more data than a phone, so if they notice that you "phone" line is using more than the average person, they will take action to keep it from happening again... If you only do it every once in a while, I don't think it will be a problem. All you need is a usb cable and the software for whatever phone it is.
  4. verizon is the most expensive service in america. for multiple lines witha data card thats fast and international at&t cannot be beaten. you can also get a employee discount on your bill depending on your employment. good luck!
  5. You can do dial up through your cell phone but thats soo slow.
