How can I trace someones ip address? Is it somewhere in a email they send you?

I am getting crank emails,and I think I know who it is.Can my ip address be traced if I send them cranks emails from a phony email address i create?

1. Call the abuse department at your ISP and tell them what's happening. They should be able to search the mail server logs and find the IP, the account, and the person doing it. They should be able to get them to stop.
