How do I find my IP address for a webcam?

I have a webcam that I'd like to set up, but it requires my IP address (for other people to view from?). Where do I find my IP address to finish the setup of the webcam software?

  1. either the back or the directions
  2. run ipconfig.exe OR Start...Settings...Network Connections ...Double click on your internet connection ...Choose Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) in the pulldown and click on properties.
  3. a very very simple way is http://whatismyip.com/
  4. to see your computer's IP address click start click run in the box type "cmd" and hit enter a black box will open up type "ipconfig/all" in the black box and hit enter to display your IP address If you are using a switch or router that servers as a dhcp server you will not see your internal LAN IP when you go to a website that shows IP addresses. Instead you will see your external IP address of your router.
  5. A couple ways - I'm assuming you're running Windows Start>Run>CMD Type: Ipconfig (this will give you the machine IP address) If you need your external ip address: http://whatismyip.com http://ipgnome.com
  6. Simple visit most trusted ip loookup sites: http://www.ipaddresslocation.org http://www.find-ip-address.org
