Wireless home network setup on windows PCs, how do i use a webcam connected to the other pc?

I have a flawless network on two windows computer, one in my room and one in the kitchen. The webcam is connected to the kitchen computer. How can I add this webcam to the network so i can see what the webcam is seeing. What I've tried is remote desktop. This method works however when the webcam previews is on, the connection lags and usually results in not responding errors. I've tried using live messenger to see the webcam, this works however to get it working i need to use remote desktop to accept and connect the two connections on messenger. And if I log out of remote desktop, or another person logs in the connection ends....' So is there a simpler way to connect the usb webcam to the network? Like using windows media player to stream the webcam? or wat??? thanks in advance....

  1. depends on ur pc u need a special software.
  2. The webcam is connected to the PC locally, not on the network. The only way would be to use remote desktop. It isn't like a printer that is shared on the network with it's own IP address, You can only see the camera on the PC it is installed on. You need to get a camera with remote viewing (like a security camera) and you would still have to use a remote desktop or VPN to view it over the network.
