How do I connect my laptop to my home wireless network router?
I have home DSL router network and ive been using a laptop with external card for many years just fine. I bought a new laptop and it says there is an internet connection and says the wireless strength is excellent, yet when I open the Internet Explorer browser for the internet it doesnt connect. I ran the Dell network diagnostics and it says the office router is messed up, yet it works with the other laptop. Is there some setting in the internet browser I am overlooking, since the signal strength is excellent?

- try right clicking on the computer icon that has the excellent message at the bottom right hand side of your screen.....click on repair and go from there. It has worked for me...hopefully this helps you.
- Did you put in your WEP key, password, or do you have the router locked down by MAC address, or have MAC filtering in place, or some other router security setting that you need to put on your new laptop?
- You have to change the connection your using to that wireless network adapter. When you double click on the wireless connection you should have a couple of connections active, just select the one that is active. Good Luck!
- you should check out this site where you can get a sony vaio laptop for free
