Wireless router?

I'm planning on buying a new router. I only need a wired router, but I'm thinking I might invest in a wireless model so that I wouldn't have to buy a wireless if I get a laptop at some point. This might be a dumb question, but it is possible to use a wireless router that has a 4 port switch built in only for wired purposes, right?

  1. Yes, you will find a lot of wireless routers with 4 RJ-45 ports (wired connections). Simon
  2. yes, you can
  3. You can but the wireless technology changes so fast that it could be obsolete by then. Alternatively, you could just invest in a good wired router and just add a wireless access-point when the time comes.
  4. Yes, it is possible. Wireless routers have ethernet ports in the back for just this purpose. Try Bestbuy and get a wireless g router. I say this because if you want to play a psp or ds online, you need to set it to mixed, meaning g and b.
