How to setup home wired/wireless network to share files.?

I have verizon dsl hooked up to a wireless router and from the router I have a desktop wired to the router and 3 laptops that connect wirelessly to the router. There are also 2 game systems (WII and PS3) that connect wirelessly to the router. All of the computers can connect to security enabled internet connection (sample name: INTERNET). I am trying to figure out how I can create a network to share files between computers. I have tried running network setup wizard and wireless network setup wizard using USB or manual setup other computers. I have tried this starting from the desktop and then I tried starting from a laptop. Could someone help me, because when I do it, it doesn't recognize the other computers for me to share files. What comp do I need to run the wizard on first. Do i use the same name as when I set up the router (INTERNET), I cannot figure it out. P.S. I am not asking how to share files I know to go to properties and share folder or files. All of the computers including laptops can connect to the internet to browse the web but they dont appear to be connected.

  1. Sorry I know this sounds obvious, but have you put your home ip range (usually 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.254) within the trusted zone on all of your laptop firewalls - otherwise the requests will be blocked.
