wireless/ pc card....safe to use?

someone gave me a used wireless and pc card. is it totally safe for me to use or can it have viruses or something like that? ive never used a pc card so... http://trendnet.com/products/proddetail.asp?prod=135_TEW-621PC that one to be exact

  2. If you're using Mac OS X or Linux, you're safe. Connecting Microsoft Windows to any network can be very dangerous indeed.

  4. its perfectly safe in terms of attaching it to your laptop however, if you have never set up a wireless network before, be aware that there are certain "risks" to security as you are transmitting data I would never send personal details over wireless link wep or wpa encrypted!
