Wireless Router?
My router is: Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN Is this a good router? Because, when I play on my Playstation 3, when they show the results and stuff, they show the connection of the internet for each player. I would have a small red bar in my connection. How can I make my connection better? I can't move my Playstation 3 closer to my router. I can't move my router closer to my Playstation 3. Please help, I need an easy way..? Im not really far away from my router.. It's like 10 steps away.

- u need a faster internet provider
- the wiredragon ZZ6y.8 is a good router it has next gen compat if you hub the umix itll be universal.
- I have never heard of that router. You might be able to buy an after market antenna for it. Go to radio shack or something. I use a linksys router with a 3rd party firmware. It allows me to crank up the power so I have good coverage over the entire house. I needed the extra power to reach my Wii.
- Its because of your ISP. There are a number of factors that might effect this. Are you using any p2p file share programs? If you're uploading some data it will conflict with your gaming experience as your bandwidth is fixed, if something else is using it, then your game cannot. If you have broadband then you might want to speak to your provider as they can snoop on your traffic and let you know if there is some malware which could be effecting your connection. Try running: netstat -n And see what connections are open.
- You may be getting a red bar for two reasons.. 1. Your Internet connection is too slow. 2. The distance between you and the server you are connecting too is too far away, causing low ping. I doubt it would be network connecting problems.
- Thats what happens use wireless and have walls your best and cheapest bet if to buy Ethernet wires!
- I had the same problem, and no matter what I tried including adding an additional router it didnt help, so what I did was buy this router from NetGear. It comes with two adapters. One plugs into a wall outlet near the router. You them plug an ethernet cable from the router to the box you plugged into the wall outlet. Then you take the second one and plug it in near the console into a different wall outlet. Then plug another ethernet cable from that adapter to the console. What it does is uses the wiring in your house as a hardwired ethernet adapter, and you get full speed (100mps), not just over the air speed (54mps). Also if you have cordless phones in your house (not cell phones), they can interfere with the wireless router depending on what network it uses. The NetGear boxes eliminates this problem. I bought mine on Amazon.com for about $120. NETGEAR WGXB102 Powerline Wireless Range Extender Link below BTW, I know it sounds expensive, but it was actually a lot cheaper than upgrading my internet service or running additional wires. Good Luck ED
- Before condemning the Router, check to see what your connection speed is. I got this off the PlayStation.com site Using remote play (via the wireless LAN feature of the PS3™ system) http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/settings/connecttest.html After further checking Intel says this is your network adapter and not a router http://www.intel.com/network/connectivity/products/wireless/wireless_n/overview.htm After reading the specs it is an extremely good adapter. You need to revisit the question and this time state the router type and the local IP address (192.168.x.x). This information will allow a better diagnostics
