Wireless card?

I have Fios fiber optics which is running at, at least, 100Mbps. My computer has a wireless card that maxes out at 54Mbps. I can't find a wireless card that's faster. Is there some secret way to do this or do I just need to run a wire between them?

  1. 54mbs is the current max on wireless cards. The next line of wireless hasn't been finished yet which supposedly go to 270mbs *edit* Actually there are some I found after searching that are called super G band, that can go to 100+, and I even did find a few N band that do go to 300mbs, such as linksys wireless-N WMP300N draft 802.11N PCI network adapter
  2. As far as my knowledge..pretty much all wireless cards are 54mbps so it would be the wi-fi card not the fiber optics device that is slowing it down..kind of sucky I know.
  3. currently wireless available on 802.11a/b/g standards..its allowing only maximum 54Mbps...some 'n' standard is under lab..it will allow upto 107Mbps..i dont know its come out or not..so i am recommending go to wired network if possible..normal UTP cable you can get 100Mbps easily..
