Wireless Card?

Okay, what if I were to get a wireless card? The one that slides in the side of your laptop, would that get me internet? My thing is I want wireless internet without paying monthly for it. I mean what is the point of having built in wireless if I can't freaking use it.

  1. this is USB Wi-Fi Adapter or Wi-fi Card adapter you are talking about, even you have it you need an access to a router that connects to the internet. Some coffee shops, restaurant, has free access, you can have free internet there. but this has limited range,
  2. The only way to get wireless is to pay for a Internet Service provider. You can connect free from Libraries, coffee shops airports etc. using WiFi. You can use a USB or slot type card if not built into your computer. If you have a neighbor with wireless ask if you can use theirs. Hope this helps
  3. Those wireless cards are very short range, only for connecting up to an existing broadband connection in your house or office i.e to your wireless router/modem. There is no such thing as free internet......where did you get that idea?. There are free hot spots around some towns but they are rare and usually you have to put up with advertising between each webpage you view. In europe you can get 3g wireless cards that work anywhere but you still have to pay a monthly fee.
