- No it doesn't. But what happens when you try to connect. Is the wireless network secured? Suggest that you check through all the instructions that came with the Speedtouch.
- No, your PC does not need a wireless adapter. However it is possible that the wireless in your router is not turned on by default, or it is encrypted. Consult the manual for your wireless router and find out how to turn it on. And just to confirm, your PC can be wired to your router at the same time as using wireless for your laptop - This is very common so don't worry you've got nothing wrong!
- Have you run the set up disc in your laptop? Do that and enter the code on your wireless adaptor when told to.
- You do need a wireless adaptor in the laptop to receive the signal coming from the router. However, if you have never had a device hooked to the router wirelessly, you may still need to set up the wireless part of the router. To do that, you have to be attached to it will a cable. Try attaching the laptop (or if you already have a PC attached by cable, use it instead) and re-run the original set up disk. It should walk you through setting up the wireless part of the router. Then, with the laptop off the cable, go into the Control Panel and run the Wireless Network Wizard. That should attach you to the router.
- I dont know much about that kind of router because i deal with Linksys only. However when you refer to "pc" i'm assuming your desktop computer. You can hard wire to that router or you should be able to. That would not affect the laptop UNLESS you have restricted the users to 1. The other problem is your wireless secured. If it is you need the WEP key. Otherwise your laptop will not connect. You dont need the cd to configure the router but you will most likely need the ip address of the router and the administrator password to log into the router to make changes to the configurations.
- are they the same type There are Wireless G, B, And A Check that
- To put it simply, you listen with your ears and speak with your mouth, in radio terms you broadcast with a transmitter and you receive with a receiver, not really sure about aol, but with my wirless BT connection I broadcast with my router and received with a PCMCIA card which plugged into my laptop at the side.
