what to do with a wireless pc card?
I found a new 54 Mbps 802.11g wireless PC card in my friend's house. it was not used before. Now can we use this for desktop or can it be used for a laptop only. any suggestion?

- it can only be used in a laptop to give that laptop the capabilities of wireless internet access through a wireless router. Wireless PC cards and wireless routers work hand-in-hand in order for users to use the internet without being limited to the length of a cord
- it depends on the format of the card...if it is usb then it can be used for both, but if it;s PCI then only desktop, if it is the skinny one that looks like it can fit the laptop slot then that is for laptops only. figure out which one it can be used for and install the user and detect the network. if you got it to work with a laptop already and it;s not a USB drive then it can only work with laptops.
- You can use it for both. The Laptop already has the slot on the side. on your desktop you should buy a PCMCIA slot for it so you can use wireless internet on your Desktop. To install it go online look for the manufacturer and support then download the software.
- If it is a card, it can be used in a desktop to set up as a wireless system. If a PCMCIA device, it can be used in a laptop that does not have wireless built in. You will need the drivers for either type. They should be available on the makers web site.
