How do I properly set up a wireless pc card to run on my regular at-home computer?

I currently have a wireless pc card through Verizon Wireless that I was at one point using on my laptop. My laptop has since died and I recently bought a PCI to PCMIA cardbus adapter so that I could use the wireless pc card with my regular at-home computer. Do I need to install the Verizon Wireless software in order for the pc card to work or do I need to set it up some other way? The computer recognizes that there is a Curitel PC Card installed but the Verizon Wireless software does not. I am unable to get an internet connection of any sort.

  1. the software from the router, and the software from the pci card is what you need.
  2. Most likely yes, you'll need to install the Verizon software and go through the same setup on the desktop as you did with the laptop. If it's unable to work, call Verizon and ask them to help you get it set up. A tip, though: if you call them for help, they'll probably refuse as it's likely not a supported configuration.
