- The best people to talk to would be the maker of your wireless card for tech support.
- There could be conflicting drivers, right click on the my computer icon, click properties, choose the hardware tab then click device manager. If the card has a yellow circle with a ? in it then the driver isn't being picked up or may be the wrong driver. Right click on the driver either way and choose update driver and try and use windows update to pull in the latest driver for the card. If this still does not work, go to the Toshiba homepage and search its driver support section for their most up to date driver and install that, restart the machine and see if it picks it up this time. If none of this works then try the card in someone elses pc to make sure that it is the driver you have/your pc which is causing the problem, in other words verify that the card is working properly. If all of this still does not get the card working, email the Toshiba helpdesk and tell them your exact problem and they might have a fix for you. That would be a last resort though and all of the above troubleshooting should help them identify the problem better then i can.
- 1. Try to plug other device or peripheral if it's ok.Preferably a working one. If it works your wireless PC card may be defective or incompatible. 2. If the said device/card (the working one)doesn't function. The card slot may have some problems.Loose contacts or connectors,i.e. "broken". 3. Search the wireless card's website for upadated drivers. Try www. driverguide.com. 4. Some drivers although written for the Windows XP may not be certified by Microsoft, so it may or may not work. Check their site or Windows Update site for latest information regarding the said device. 5. Reinstall the driver again.First UNINSTALL it.If it still has folders, delete it and defrag the hard drive if you're inclined for a clean driver installation.Reinstall the driver and try again.
