  1. the ip address is like ur internet connection i think n u can't change it , only u can c it and u can't. i think im right
  2. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=information+about+what+an+ip+address+is.&btnG=Google+Search Check these links out for answers
  3. 1) You usually get a dynamic (changing) IP address from your ISP. But not always. And you can not change it. 2) They can have software that sees it. 3) The email headers will give you some information, but not Im's. Go to this site, it tells you where you are, according to your IP http://www.ip2location.com/
  4. 1.) If you want to change it, you have to cancel your internet subscription, then re-order it to get a new ip address 1.) Either that or you go and ask your IPS for a dynamic ip plan and ask if that is the plan that will change your IP address every time you go onto the internet 2.) The only way people can see it is if they hack into your computer and go to a websites which tell what your ip address is 3.) I don't know the answer to question #3.
  5. 1. You can change your IP address, but it depends on where you are getting your assigned IP address. Normally they are given out by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and they are set on a leased period. If you have high speed, it probably has your cable or DSL modem assigned an address for a set period of time. If you have a wireless router it will give you local, non-routeable address that are only used on a local level (e.g. 10.0.1.100) You change change your address on windows by a) click start -> run b) on the run window type cmd c) in the cmd widow prompt type ipconfig /renew 2) if you computer is visible on a network you could ping the machine by name and get your address. this is unlikely in a home setting since it is normally behind a firewall of some sort. XP sp2 has one built in 3) It is unlikely that you will be the ip address of people who IM you. On the e-mail you can see in the header of the e-mail the information on the mail server, but not the client who sent it normally.
  6. Yes...What you need is a proxy. You can change your IP and its a good idea to do it whenever you visit sites that reveal your IP address. Sites like myspace and facebook and most chatrooms reveal your IP number Visit www.Proxy.org and you will see to the right of the page a url box. In that box enter the website you want to see. Then you will have a fake proxy and no one can trace you. However, some sites will run slow, may not work with certain sites and some have pop ups. When you do find a site that works well with the proxy you are using then bookmark that proxy. Any of those sites on the proxy.org page are proxy sites. The top one with the URL is kind of like a "featured" site of the day. To see the IP of the person emailing you ...all you have to do is go into options (in yahoo) and click general preferences..then click the box that has headers--show all headers on incoming mail. Once you click that..anyone that emails you will have their IP on there. hope all this helps
  7. 1) Dynamic IP - Changes all the time so you don't need a new one. 2) Software and Websites have multiple ways of seeing your IP just GOOGLE it. 3) http://www.whois.com
