Home Wireless Network Home Wireless Network

how do i set up a wireless home network for file and printer sharing? Already sharing broadband conn w/router?

I have a netgear wireless g router and set it up to share the cable connection fairly easy. Now I want to share the files on my desktop and the printer. I have gone through the Network setup wizards (both pc and notebook are running on Win XP). I can see the notebook from my pc's network profile but when i click on it, it says I dont have access. From my notebook, I dont see the PC (host) at all.

  1. Partner I am having a very similar problem. If I get a helpful answer I will pass it on, hope you can do the same. Take a look at the answers that I have already recieved maybe they will give you some ideas. good luck
  2. Enable (in both PC's Operating Systems) under Control Panel - >Network Connections>Wireless Connection>File and Printer Sharing. Make sure it is checked. Restart both computers so the setting take effect. Both accounts should have full Administrative privilages set, and you should be able to ping the other machines IP address. I would attempt to ping the machine first, and if that works, try moving some files accross your network.
