How can I set up a home wireless network(for internet)?

I have 2 desktops and a laptop....For Internet I have comcast Cable connection....Basically I want them all to access the internet... b/c on one computer they are using dial-up!!!! I know I need wireless cards for the desktops(and a router?)....what else? how do i do it? Also how do I protect my computers from unwanted attackes or people using MY network? Is regular firewall (& AntiVirus )on each computer enough?? will it be cheaper or should I just ask comcast to do it(I think they charge a 1-2 hundred....)? Please help or list a GOOD website that describes.... Thanks I'm certain the desktops need wireless cards.. right? Are they easy to install (like extra memory is?)... whats the average $$?

2. Install your router software on all computers. Open control panel (in classic view) and open the network set up wizard, follow the steps.
3. start with buying a wireless router with wireless cards for each computer. then you will plug in your cable modem into the wan port of your router, since it is cable, it will connect to the internet automatically. by default, the router will give all of your computers an IP address to be able to connect to it. but they will have to connect to the wireless network of your router. you're gonna have to secure it up with a netork key, its gonna be easy to do .. it has a wizard for newbies. so for security, change the admin password of the router, create network keys to connect to the wireless. also the router has a software firewall interegrated and you can even choose to ignore outside pings from the internet so that nobody knows you exist. etc, if you want deeper understanding just keep asking once you get it.
