How can I automatically change my IP address?

I want my apparent IP address to change between a varied selection frequently, it wouldn't matter what the address is, as long as it changes. It would be cool if I could do it through applescript, but I doubt thats possible. I'm not even sure if it is possible short of switching between a list of internet proxies, like proxyfoxy, which would be a little slow for my needs.

  1. Use proxies or wingates possibly? Depends on your ISP. If you have Qwest DSL, I know that if you change the Q on the PPPoA login name to a capital or a lower case Q and reconnect the modem, it'll change the IP.
  2. The only easy and cheap way to do this is with proxies. The other option is using a non-router modem, and having all your computers running on internet IP's from your ISP's DHCP, which does work but most ISP's will charge you a rather large sum if you try this. It also means you can't have an internal network (easily). I wouldn't recommend it unless you have quite a bit of networking experience (and knowledge of routing)
  3. If you're trying to stealth your ID, then check out 'the onion router' which is the best method. Google for URL.
  4. i recommend download the ip changer http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Ip-Changer-Download-68099.html or 1. Get to a command prompt. (START, run, cmd). 2. Type "ipconfig /release" (without the quotes). 3. Shut down computer. 4. Turn off computer. 5. Turn off all ethernet hubs/switches. 6. Turn off cable/DSL modem. 7. Leave off overnight. 8. Turn everything back on.
